Welcome to Queerly Operatic, the San Francisco Bay Area's free lesbian/gay/queer opera club! Queerly Operatic has more than 100 members, both women and men. New members are always made very welcome.

We meet for potlucks, videos, and performances: early Italian opera (Rossini, Mozart, and backwards from there), gender-bending classics, and selections from S.F. Opera's current season. In the spring, we sometimes get group tickets to several Berkeley Opera performances and go out for dinner afterwards on College Avenue. The rest of the year, we return to our format of once-a-month potluck and opera video nights on Potrero Hill in San Francisco (usually on the second Saturday of the month), with occasional special events in San Francisco and the East Bay.

By signing up on the mailing list, you'll get an e-mail invitation a week or two before each event, with a description of that month's opera. Once you RSVP, you'll get an e-mail a few days before the event with directions and details of what to bring. The mailing list is low-volume, not a discussion list; you'll get about 3 messages a month (an announcement and reminder about our monthly gathering, plus occasional event announcements).
